Allianz Life Data Breach exposed 1.4 million customers

The breach affected a third-party cloud-based system used by insurance companies, which was discovered on July 17, a day after “malicious threat actors” gained access. Allianz Life, headquartered in Minneapolis and owned by the German Financial Services Group (Allianz SE), said the attackers used social engineering technology to obtain personally identifiable information.
