One thing I keep hearing from readers is that they want the flexible side hustle that they can do without a lot of stress or commitment – often online surveys appear.
Over the years, I have tried many paid survey sites myself – some are great, some are not very good. Today, I want to share my honest experience with Heypiggy, a survey site that says you can earn cash or gift cards just to share opinions online.
In this Heypiggy review, I’ll break down exactly how it works, how much money you can actually expect to make, the pros and cons of my real life, and whether it’s worth your time. I’ll even show you my own screenshots so you can see the real look of the interior.

Here is my Heypiggy review.

What is Heypiggy?
Heypiggy was founded about 1½ years ago and has more than 1,000,000 users. It is an online survey platform that is available as a website and app (iOS and Android) and is available in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and Australia.
The idea behind Heypiggy is very simple: you answer questions, share your honest thoughts about products and services, and in exchange, you make a little money.
When you join Heypiggy, you will get a survey, which costs just a few cents to a few dollars per price. Some surveys take only a minute or two, while others can take up to 30 minutes or more. Once you reach the minimum spend, you can cash out using PayPal, Venmo, bank transfer, virtual visa card or Amazon, Walmart, Starbucks, Doordash and more (there are about 150 gift card options).
I like that they give you a lot of choices. Not every survey site can deliver on so many options, especially at such a low minimum.
Is Heypiggy legal?
Whenever I test a new survey site, the first thing I want to look at is whether it is actually legal. I don’t want you to waste your time on scams or never paying sites.
I can say Heypiggy is real – I tested it myself and could see the actual investigation waiting for me on the dashboard. I love that they expect payments for each survey and that you can see exactly how much money you make before you start.
Your income comes immediately when you complete the survey (or even if you get kicked out). And, when you’re ready to cash out, the site has a lot of spending options – from Paypal to Venmo to a long list of store gift cards, you can start with a lot of options like Amazon or Visa. This always bodes well for me because it shows that they are not trying to keep your money locked.
Another thing I’m looking for is what other people are saying. Heypiggy has a very good rating in places like Trustpilot and App Stores, and some people share that they get paid within minutes. The Heypiggy Trustpilot has a rating of 4.6 out of 5 stars and a review of about 13,000. Heypiggy has a 5-star rating on Google Play, with over 500,000 downloads. Of course, like any survey site, not everyone has the same experience – but it’s nice to see some positive feedback to support it.

How does Heypiggy work?
If you’re new to survey sites, here’s how Heypiggy works:
- Free registration – You can register through their website, or click here to download the app on your phone. It’s free, very quickly.
- Complete your profile – This part is very important! You will answer some questions about yourself – such as your age, education, family information, etc. This helps Heypiggy match the survey you are more likely to qualify.
- Select your survey – Once your profile is filled in, you will see a dashboard with surveys available for your use. Each survey shows how much it pays, how long it should take, and the star rating. I love that they show this expectation – it makes it easier to choose who is worth your time.
- Conduct investigation – Click, answer honestly and complete the survey. Remember that sometimes you may sift through. This is annoying, but it happens to almost every survey site.
- cash – Once you reach the minimum spend (maybe as low as $1 to $5), you can choose to use PayPal, Venmo, virtual visa card or gift card to get paid for your favorite store.
I also noticed that Heypiggy has some reward systems – sometimes if you do some research for a limited time, you will see special offers or small bonuses. This is a good motivation if you want to make more money in a day.
How much money can you make with Heypiggy?
Honestly – no one retires early by conducting an online survey. But this can be an easy way to earn some extra pocket money, especially if you have some free time while watching TV or around.
When I tested Heypiggy, I saw that the survey costs 9 cents to do a quick survey for a minute, up to a longer survey, up to $3. Most of the surveys I found were 30 cents to $1.50.
That’s the thing – sometimes the estimated time is not exactly accurate. One survey said it could actually take 15 minutes, which could take close to 25 minutes.
One trick I found is really helpful: I’d better stick to shorter surveys. For example, I found the 5-minute survey of 35 cents more realistic and frustrating because I’m unlikely to be screened. Longer surveys usually pay more, but the chances of being kicked out also seem to be higher.
So while you absolutely won’t make a lot of money with Heypiggy, if you check regularly and do some quick surveys when you have a few minutes, you can add up.

My personal experience with Heypiggy
I always like to share real things – good and not too good things – so you can decide if it’s worth trying.
Here is what stood out to me when using Heypiggy:
- Questions about typos and duplication: I did notice some typos inside the website and survey. In a survey, they asked me at least five times my highest level of education – I felt like I was repeating it!
- Time estimate is inaccurate: Some surveys say they take 15 minutes, but once I start, the actual survey site says 25 minutes. If you have time, that’s not a big deal, but if you track your own hourly rates, it can be annoying.
- Many disqualifications: Like some survey sites, I did get kicked out of a lot of surveys. It may be normal sometimes, but it is still a bit annoying. After answering questions over 10 minutes, many surveys were kicked out on the last question.
- Additional bonuses for filtering: One thing I like is that if you get kicked out of the investigation, Heypiggy sometimes gives you tiny rewards (like 5 cents). This is not much, but it is better than nothing.
- A brief investigation is better luck: Personally, I have had greater success with the shorter survey. I feel like I wasted less time and actually had a higher chance of completing the survey and getting paid.
Overall, Heypiggy is a legitimate website, but you have to face realistic expectations. If you want to have easy money, you may feel frustrated. But if you want to have a small, flexible way to make a few dollars here and there, it’s worth adding to your list.
Pros and cons of Heypiggy
Here is the best part I think and the better choice:
advantage:
- Super easy to register and start
- Free to use, no hidden fees
- Lowest wages ($1 to $5)
- PayPal, Venmo, gift cards, virtual visas and many other payment options
- If you filter out small bonuses from surveys
- Working on desktop and mobile devices
shortcoming:
- Survey time estimates can be reduced by several minutes (or more)
- Many surveys are disqualified (such as some survey sites, but still to know)
Maximize Heypiggy
If you decide to try Heypiggy, here are some tips to help you get the best experience:
- honest – Fill in your profile honestly so that you can get a survey that matches you.
- Persist in shorter investigations – In my experience, the frustration of shorter surveys (such as 10 minutes) is less frustrating because I’m not kicked out often.
- Check frequently – Investigation moves forward quickly. Regular login can help you catch the best login before populating.
- Redeem quickly – Since the price of the minimum expenditure is very low, I always recommend that you cash it out once it is cashed out. That way, you won’t sit on the money and you may forget.
- Combined with other websites – Heypiggy might be a nice extra, but I recommend you sign up for other sites, such as Survey Junkie or Brand Survey, so you have more opportunities and can stack your income.
- View the star ratings of surveys – On Heypiggy, each survey has a star rating. I recommend trying those with 5 stars because usually those that are easier to kick out of your possibilities.
FAQ
Here are the answers to frequently asked questions about Heypiggy.
Is Heypiggy worth it?
So, would I recommend Heypiggy? If you’re looking for an easy, flexible way to earn some extra money during downtime, Heypiggy might be a good option to add to the list. This is not perfect because the spending is on a lower side and you may disqualify from some surveys, but for most survey sites. What I like is that the minimum cash is the lowest, there are a lot of spending options, and it can be used on your phone and computer. If you’re on earning income and sticking to shorter survey reality, then Heypiggy can be a nice little side-business each month.
How does Heypiggy pay you?
You can cash through Paypal cash, Venmo, bank transfer, virtual visa card or Amazon, Walmart, Doordash, Starbucks, Sephora, etc.
What is the minimum expenditure for Heypiggy?
It depends on the reward you choose – some start as low as $1 to $5.
Why am I kicked out of the investigation?
Survey disqualification occurs on each survey site. Sometimes you just don’t fit in investigating what the company wants. Keeping your profile updated and trying shorter surveys can help you.
Can you make money with Heypiggy?
Yes, but keep your expectations realistic – it’s more like a small effort than a full salary. Your income potential is likely to be $5 per hour or less. Occasionally conducting high-paying surveys on Heypiggy will give you more income, but that’s not the norm.
