The move comes as insurers across the United States adjust their pricing, responding to more frequent and harsh weather events, higher reconstruction costs, and reinsurance pressures. Illinois has been one of the toughest states. According to AM Best’s December 20023 report, from 2012 to 2022, it released the fifth worst direct joint ratio for coverage for homeowners and farmers.
