Close Brothers Property Finance MD Thomas Retirement – Mortgage Strategy

Rowland Thomas, managing director of the closure of Brothers Finance, will retire after 38 years of the lender.

The company has confirmed that Deputy Managing Director Daniel Joyce will step on his shoes.

Thomas has played a major role in shaping the growth of the Real Estate Finance Department as it has raised its loan book to less than £20 billion now.

In addition to serving as managing director and overseeing a team of 100 people, Thomas personally manages a large number of client portfolios and over time, from small residential projects to large commercial plans, numerous project funding over time.

His successor Joyce joined Close Brothers Finance 25 years ago, initially engaged in support functions before appointing a relationship manager in 2006.

He was promoted to the Real Estate Finance Committee in 2015 and became Deputy Managing Director in August 2023.

Commenting on his departure Thomas (pictured) said: “It makes sense to work with such a high-competitive, dedicated and driven team at Close Brothers Property Finance and help support SME home builders through “good times” and some extremely challenging times. It is also a very pleasant, education with many outstanding developers and many investors, and it is also a very pleasant and charming investor and career.
