“Survivors of the Los Angeles County fire suffered financial and emotional difficulties due to delays on state farms and denying their effective insurance claims,” Perez said. “Despite years of faithful payment of premiums, they have met excessive documentation requirements, refused claims despite clear evidence, confusing and difficult claims procedures, and remained silent when seeking help after the disaster.”
