“Because of Lloyd’s ‘silent network’ authorization, insurance companies are asked to clearly state whether cyber risks are covered or excluded,” he said. “In fact, this has led to a widespread use of network exclusions for the entire hull, cargo and non-international group mutual aid P&I policies, regardless of their format. This means that many marine operators today are unconsciously exposed.”
