“The huge extent of the reduction in Medicaid-only reduction will affect all patients in every community nationwide, not just Medicaid beneficiaries,” Pollack said. “Hospitals, especially in rural and underserved areas, will be forced to decide whether they must reduce services, reduce staff and potentially consider the difficult decision of closing the door.”
