“California is disconnected from some well-intentioned consumer groups who don’t understand that insurance companies can’t keep losing money and keep operating,” Jones said. “Instead of forcing airlines to subsidize wildfire losses through litigation, we should focus on prevention and mitigation measures, but rather on hardening homes, building defense-resistant areas, and using ash-resistant vents. The government also plays a major role in prevention and response.”
