Property Ombudsman Appoints Bassett as Chairman – Mortgage Strategy

The property ombudsman has appointed Claire Bassett as the new chairman of the board.

She replaced Undercliffe’s Baroness Warwick at the end of the eighth grade at the end of the month.

Since 1990, the agency has provided another dispute resolution service for consumers and property agents.

It can award up to £25,000 in each case to achieve actual and quantifiable losses, aggravation, distress and inconvenience caused by the agency’s actions.

However, the Ombudsman is not a regulator and has no authority to take legal action, fine or decide how an agent conducts business.

Bassett currently serves on the board of directors of the Chartered Insurance Institute and serves as a non-executive director of the Office of Serious Fraud, the Lawyer Regulatory Bureau and the Law Commission.

“Everyone I know so far has been very welcomed and looks forward to meeting with colleagues and stakeholders,” she said.

The service is currently led by Interim CEO Andy Clachers and Interim Ombudsman Lesley Horton.
