“What can I do with a dollar?” Many people think that a dollar is not worth it these days, but that doesn’t mean it’s worthless. Actually, you can do a lot of things with a $1 bill, which has nothing to do with spending money (plus a lot of stuff). Some are very interesting. Some are skills. Others are weird, while others are just fun activities. If you have a $1 bill in your pocket and are looking for something interesting, there are a number of ways you can use that you may not have considered.
Use it as a bookmark

Wait…what? Why do you want to fuse the dollar bill? Of course it’s science! The dollar bill is made of ink and contains iron to prevent forgery. If you fuse a dollar bill thoroughly, you can use a powerful neon magnet to separate the iron out of the ink. Here is a tutorial on how to perform this experiment. It’s a great activity to do with the kids because, seriously, who doesn’t want to fuse a dollar?
Track it
Have you ever wondered where the dollar you have in your hands? Can you do this by entering it to George’s location? If another person enters the serial number of the bill you hold, you can see the previous location. If no one has been available yet, you can enter it and follow where it will eventually appear in the future, as others will enter it when they get it.
Found the owl
Many people believe that there is an owl on the dollar bill. Take some time to try to find it yourself. If not, you may need to take out your microscope to see if you can see it better. Then you can let the debate start on whether you really think it’s an owl.

While you can literally burn a dollar bill, a better way to burn it is to rub the alcohol with water and rub it with alcohol. Doing so will make the dollar bill seem to be burning, but will eventually remain intact so you can use it for something else, too. This is a fun experiment with kids, and it’s a great science experiment.
Change it to one dollar coin
Since the dollar coins are not used in daily financial transactions, it seems special, especially for children. If you are planning to give your kids some money, why not do it with coins instead of bills. This is especially effective when donating from Tooth Fairy or other special events.
Making a ring
This is another interesting project you can do. With a little fold, you can turn the dollar into a ring. It takes some origami trick to achieve this, but it’s a great project and they’ll have a great time wearing the new rings they’ve created.
Balanced shot glass above
This is another great tip you can win bets at the bar or kids can use to surprise their friends. While the example here is that there are two beer glasses and one shooting glass, you can also use alternative glasses. The challenge is to ask your friend to put the dollar on two glasses and then balance the shot glass on top of it. Find your birthday
There are a lot of people collecting dollar bills and they find it interesting. One of the popular types is to find the type of birthdays within the serial number. For example, if you were born in 1985, you would look for an act that “1985” somewhere within the serial number. If you find a birthday bill that doesn’t fit your year, you can keep it as part of a collection or for sale, as people will usually pay a premium for these birthday bills on eBay, as many people think they are lucky.
Learn a very cool magic
If you have a dollar bill, a card and a pen, you can perfect a wonderful magic that will surprise your friends and family. Although the trick will look great, it is really difficult to execute. This is a great tip when you want to impress. Jump to 4:11 to be correct.
Swap it for 100p
If you want some lasting fun, you can take out the dollar and exchange it for 100p. There are so many fun and fun things you can do with pennies. You can also browse all the pennies to see if you are lucky enough to get some older people.

Since items in these stores may change periodically, you may also come across some gems for products that you only need $1 in your hand.
Open a Coke or beer bottle
If you are at a party or want to impress your friends, you can open a beer bottle or coke bottle with a dollar bill. Yes, you read it correctly. By folding the bills tightly, you can pop the lid out of any bottle. So the next time you are somewhere, without a bottle opener, take a dollar bill out of your wallet and impress all your friends.
Find a star
Another cool thing to look for on the $1 bill is the star in the serial number. When you find a bill with a stellar end serial number, this means a print error occurred during production and the bill needs to be reprinted. These are called replacement instructions. But it is often called the “star bill.” It’s a good collection bill, or you can sell it far more than the face value at auction, as many people love collecting these.
To street musicians
If you are walking around the street and listening to some wonderful music to watch, consider this day for street musicians. My philosophy is that if there are any street performers doing something fun enough to stop and watch for ten minutes, they deserve at least a dollar. Street performers will be very grateful for the gesture.
Balanced coins
This takes a little practice, but it’s a fun exercise when you fall down. Challenge your friends to balance coins on a $1 bill. When they can’t, you can show them how to do this by folding the bill in half and slowly opening it with coins.

Hide the dollar bill somewhere where it will find it, and when they do it will bring a little joy to their day. I have some favorite books that aren’t that popular. When I go to the library, I like to find this book and then slide a dollar into it to surprise the next reader. There are thousands of places you can place a dollar that can make someone find it for the day.
Pulling from the bottle
Here is another tip you can use to make money (or just trick your friends). Challenge them, remove a dollar bill from under an inverted bottle (or pop-up) without touching the bottle without the tip of the bottle. They may take the bill out of the bill as soon as possible, but they will find that they will knock the bottle down every time. Instead, you will slowly roll up the dollar and win the bet (surprise your friends).
Leave it in the bar
It seems that more and more bars are encouraging their customers to incorporate dollar bills into the walls and bar ceilings. If you visit one of these bars (or you can start a new trend at your local bar), you can write your name on your dollar bill and attach it to the wall.
Pull from between two bottles
Here is another great tip you can do any $1 bill you have while you’re at the bar. Take the bill and place it between the two bottles (this example places the top of the bottle at the bottom, but in between you can also use the top of the bottle to finish the top of the bottle with the top of the bottle). Ask your friend to try to remove the bill without touching the bottle. They will try to pull the bottle out of the side so that it can fall off. You can then do this successfully with this little trick.
Making paper airplanes
Photo courtesy of JarednoelTake the bill and board the plane with paper. The simplest thing is the type of paper airplane made from plain paper. You don’t have to stay there. If you really want to challenge yourself, you can also make an F-14 jet fighter.
Challenge your friends to catch it
This is an old man, but a good thing. Challenge your friends to try to grab a dollar before slipping in their hands. When they place their hands around it (without touching), you hold it, and when you put it down, they try to quickly close their hands to grab it. The only rule is that they can’t close until they see it drop and can’t put their hands down to help them catch it. Their brain’s response dropped to keep their hands closed long enough that the bill wouldn’t catch.
