England’s housing manager £100 million housing project in downtown Leeds – Mortgage Strategy

Homes in England led a £96.7 million deal to develop a major residential plan near Leeds city centre.

The plan will build 618 single, two- and three-bedroom apartments on five acres of land on Kirkstall Road, paved in five buildings on the landscaped grounds, including new public space next to the Aire River.

Construction has begun on site a mile from downtown and is expected to be completed by the end of 2027.

Together with England Homes, Greater Manchester Pension Fund and West Yorkshire Pension Fund, a loan of £91 million will be offered over four years.

In addition, the West Yorkshire Merger Authority has provided a £5.7 million grant from its Brownfield Housing Foundation.

The plan was established as a joint venture with residential developer Glenbrook, which will retain shares in the project and serve as development manager.

The plan is part of a government commitment to build 1.5 million homes over the next five years.

“As a government housing and regeneration agency, we are committed to working with public and private sector organizations to achieve their ambitions and develop much-needed new homes nationwide,” said Nigel Barclay, home director of Loans in England.

The English family’s deal is after it Peter Freeman Chairman and CEO Peter Denton announced they will resign in a letter from Housing Secretary Matthew Pennycook and put forward a higher 2025 home construction target for 2025.
