Agreement joining lenders provide stamp duty guarantees – Mortgage Strategy

Accord mortgage has become the latest lender to guarantee completion of the case filed next week before the change of stamp duty threshold changes at the end of the month.

Only the intermediary lender said the cases should be filed by March 25 before the April 1 deadline.

It also urges brokers and attorneys to call the company if they cannot meet this deadline but instead “for the march is completed.”

Lenders are expected to be “very busy last week in March” and can complete the loan “dual capacity”.

On April 1, the stamp duty threshold will be reduced from £250,000 for home moves to £125,000, while the first-time home buyers’ £425,000 will be reduced from £425,000 to £300,000.

Barclays and Lloyds Bank Group, including Halifax and Bank of Scotland, provided similar commitments this week.

Chris Hill, Accord sales and distribution director, said: “We know our valuable broker partners will do everything they can to help their clients avoid paying more when the stamp duty threshold changes in early April.

“So we maximize resources in a highly skilled customer support team to help them achieve this.”
