Are you wondering if you can really make money to conduct an online survey? I decided to test the test to see if it was worth my time. So I spent two hours on the survey, doing paid online surveys, trying different strategies, redeeming my views and cashing in.
My results? I made $15 in two hours.
While this is not life-changing money, I think answering paid online surveys is an easy way to earn extra cash while watching TV, sitting on the couch, or having free time. Since you can always do your research – in the morning, afternoon or late at night, it’s a super flexible way to make money.
In this blog post, I will use survey fans to share my full experience, including the number of each survey, the strategy of making money every hour, how to avoid being disqualified and how quickly I can cash out.

How do I make $15 in 2 hours to survey – Is it worth it?
This is my experience and my thoughts.
Which survey company did I test?
In this experiment, I used survey fans.
Survey Junkie is an online platform that pays users to complete surveys and helps companies collect feedback on market research. All kinds of businesses need to listen to the true opinions of all kinds of people, and this is where you and I come in.
Survey fans are one of the most famous survey sites out there, available in the United States, Canada and Australia.
- Who can register? Anyone over 16 can join for free.
- How do you make money? You conduct your survey and earn points that can be redeemed for PayPal cash, bank transfer or gift card.
- How much money can you make? It depends on the survey you are eligible for, but the expenditure ranges from a few cents to a few dollars per survey.
You can learn more in the survey Junkie comments.
In addition, there are many other survey companies you may also be interested in, such as:

What kind of questions do they ask?
Most surveys are simple and ask about your shopping habits, your perception of the brand or your daily activities. Here are some example issues I’ve encountered:
- How often do you buy coffee from a coffee shop?
- What brands of shampoo have you purchased in the past three months?
- Which streaming service do you subscribe to?
- Have you traveled by plane in the past year?
- Do you have pets? If so, what?
- How old are your kids and what is their favorite TV show?
Some surveys are longer and more detailed, while others are super quick.
I’m going to say that 99% of the surveys I’ve conducted in my life are easy. I did run into a survey that actually asked me a lot of difficult math questions. I got one of these mistakes wrong (I tried to answer them quickly and I was startled by the question!), so I was kicked out of the investigation. Actually, I was surprised that it was included – so I don’t think it’s a normal investigation.
How I Make $15 in Survey in 2 Hours
To actually do the test, I spent two hours answering the survey, focusing on the survey that paid the most per minute.
Here is what I found:

1. A survey on choosing the best spend
Not all surveys pay the same fee, so I quickly learned that choosing the right survey makes a big difference. Some surveys paid only a few points above 10 points, while others paid more in less time.
Here are some examples that can show you what I’m talking about:
- You can earn 205 points for a 10-minute survey, which is 20 points per minute (I jumped to this minute, which is one of the easiest surveys I’ve ever had! – I was shocked by how easy it is).
- You can earn 110 points for an 11-minute survey, or 10 points per minute.
- You can earn 100 points for a 17-minute survey, or 6 points per minute.
- You can earn 40 points on a 21-minute survey, i.e. 2 points per minute.
For me, I’m just trying to do a survey of 5 or more points per minute. I didn’t even look at the people who paid 1 or 2 o’clock every minute, because I think these are worth it. I do appreciate investigating how Junkie will list these three (the total points, time and points per minute you can earn) so that I can quickly analyze which one I want to get.
My tip is to refresh your page frequently for new survey options. If you don’t like the current selection, new selections will appear when refreshing. I do a lot of things so I always see the highest point survey.

2. Expect some disqualification
One thing about answering surveys is that you will not be eligible for each survey. Sometimes, if you don’t match your target audience, you start conducting a survey.
However, survey fans still reward you with your attempts (e.g., 3 points). This is not much, but it will add up over time and it will get nothing.
I didn’t get kicked out much. Once, I was kicked out for 3 or 4 consecutive surveys, which was annoying. But after that, I was accepted by some high-paying people, so I was happy again.
3. Pay attention to skills issues
Some survey tests to make sure you are actually paying attention. They will include instructions like “Input #13”. If you follow inaccurately, you will be disqualified immediately.
This is to prevent people from randomly clicking on the answers to win points – so it’s worth noting!

4. Take advantage of bonus offers
Survey fans sometimes offer bonuses for consistent bonuses. For example, I received a bonus offer of 500 points for 7 consecutive days to complete the survey.
Also, about once a day, a pop-up appears and you can get 1 point immediately by just answering one question. This helps you to investigate surveys better so that you can qualify for more surveys in the future. I always answer these questions because I want to make sure I receive the best survey sent to me (and then it is unlikely to be disqualified later because I am not a contest).

How to redeem points and get paid
One of the best things about survey fans is that you can cash out as long as you hit 500 points ($5).
You can get:
- PayPal (1 to 3 working days)
- Bank transfer (Maximum 5 working days)
- Gift Card (Amazon, Walmart, Apple, Target, Starbucks, Sephora and Groupon)
I was able to cash out my income quickly and easily. I chose to redeem points with a free Amazon gift card of $15.
Pros and cons of survey fans
I think these are the pros and cons of the survey site:
advantage:
- This is an easy way to earn extra cash in your spare time.
- The payment threshold for $5 is very low.
- Multiple cash options available (PayPal, bank transfer, gift card).
- Provide reward opportunities for daily participation.
- Even if you are disqualified, you will still earn small points.
shortcoming:
- After several questions, some investigations will disqualify you.
- Not all surveys can pay well for your time.

Is it worthwhile to conduct an investigation? My honest thoughts
So, is it a legal way to make money by taking investigations?
Yes. Of course, this is not a way to get rich, but if you are looking for an easy way to make money in your spare time, that is a real option.
Best for those who want:
- A simple, innocent way to earn extra cash
- Even if they watch TV, they can do flexible things at any time
- Small rewards added up over time
But if you expect to earn hundreds of dollars quickly, this won’t be the best option for you.
I made $15 in 2 hours and in the survey I was able to cash out quickly without any problems. If you are looking for an easy and legal way to make money, this may be worth trying!
