Marsden Building Association relaxes foreign loan policy – Mortgage strategy

The Marsden Building Society has relaxed its foreign mortgage standards, including additional support for expats returning to the UK.

The association’s loan policy update is for loans to foreign homes and foreign landlords.

  • Now, expats returning to the UK are now eligible for foreign residential loans, whether with the same employer or with a new contract in the same area and with a future start date

  • Professional sports personnel can receive up to 80% of the loan to value foreign homes, with a maximum retirement age of 40 at the end of the mortgage period unless sufficient investment or post-retirement income can be determined

  • Income multiples for co-applicants with incomes of over £75,000 or £100,000 increased from 4.5 to 5.5 times

  • Accept up to 30 acres of properties now with up to 80% LTV, assuming
