At the center of the controversy is James Weems, who worked at the day care center for more than a decade and was convicted by a Baltimore County jury last November on charges including second-degree rape, sexual abuse of a minor and displaying obscene material to a minor. The abuse allegedly occurred at multiple locations at the facility, including inside a white van used to transport children to and from school.
