Survey shows severe convective storms are top concern for U.S. insurance companies

When asked to rank hazards by potential impact on annual revenue following reinsurance recoveries, respondents ranked SCS first, followed by fire (excluding wildfires), hurricanes and tropical storms, wildfires and floods. Eighty-seven percent (87%) expressed serious or partial concerns about future SCS losses, highlighting the threat to insurers’ financial stability.
