Northeast Insurance Company files for U.S. bankruptcy protection amid wave of child abuse claims

Northeastern was formed to provide insurance and reinsurance for medical professional liability, professional liability, automobile liability, property deductibles, directors and officers liability and workers’ compensation risks. Its insureds include Shareholders Hospital, UJA/Jewish Charities of New York and related nonprofit institutions such as nursing homes, camps and charitable organizations.
