Cyber vulnerabilities in major UK retailers offer courses for U.S. businesses

Event Overview
In late April 2025, the cooperative was a major UK retailer with more than 2,000 food stores and had important operations in insurance and funeral services, finding attempts to violate its IT systems. In response, the company voluntarily shut down part of its IT infrastructure to curb threats and temporarily affect backend and call center capabilities. It is worth noting that customer-facing businesses (such as retail stores and delivery) remain unaffected, indicating effective containment and business continuity plans.
