Second Expense Loans Rises 22% in June: FLA – Mortgage Strategy

Second fee mortgages in June increased by 22 per cent to £177 million.

The latest data from the Finance and Leasing Association showed that there were 3,505 loans in June, 16% higher than the same month last year.

The total lease for the full year ended June was £18.7 billion, an increase of 25% over the year in June 2024.

More than 37,800 loans increased their loans in 12 months, 17% higher than the previous year’s figure.

“In June, the second allegation of the mortgage market reported its highest value and quantity in 2025. In the first half of 2025, the number of new businesses was 12% higher than the same period in 2024,” said Fiona Hoyle, the Finance and Leasing Association.

“In June 2025, the allocation of new business through loans showed that the proportion of new agreements to merge existing loans was 57.6%; for home renovation, the consolidation of existing loans was 24.2%; for home renovation, it was only 12.6%.”
