Mortgage Mom Launches On the Ladder – Mortgage Strategy

Mortgage Mom has launched a new YouTube educational series called “On the Ladder.”
The series aims to address the growing disconnect between lender innovation and first home buyer understanding.
It starts at 10am on Monday 24th November.
The launch follows the Government’s renewed focus on housing accessibility, SME homebuilder support, planning reform and financial education.
The mortgage mom says recent research shows eight in 10 college students believe home ownership is completely out of reach.
This is despite lenders increasingly focusing on accessibility through 100% mortgage lending, home assistance products, affordability model updates, schemes such as Deposit Unlock and Own a New Home, and new build incentives.
Episode topics will include deposit pathways and low deposit schemes, 100% and home-backed mortgages, new build incentives and lender-led affordability improvements, legal process explanations and negotiation techniques.
Commenting on the launch, Sarah Tucker, founder of The Mortgage Mum, said: “Lenders have delivered significant innovation over the past 18 months, but the average first-time buyer is unaware that these solutions exist.”
“I see it every week – whether I’m speaking on ITV’s This Morning, advising policymakers in Downing Street or talking to customers. The message people are hearing is that buying is impossible. The reality is more nuanced and this series aims to bring clarity to the conversation.”
“Consumers get their information from headlines, news summaries and social media.”
“As an industry, we have a responsibility to communicate clearly. This series brings the right voices into the room – advisors, lenders, real estate agents, attorneys – and speaks in a way that the public can truly understand.”
