Creamy Chicken and Gravy

This has been one of my easiest thrifty recipes over the years. My family actually beg I make this (honestly, it’s very interesting to me because I don’t think it’s almost a “real” recipe, haha!). This is the ideal way to consume leftover cooked chicken or rice. Actually, if your chicken and rice are already cooked, you can eat this meal on the table 15 minutes or less!

It’s perfect for the upcoming cold fall nights where you need a quick, cheap, comfortable meal that will fill your entire family with joy.

How to make creamy chicken, rice and gravy

1. Prepare 1 pound of boneless chicken using your favorite method. (Cook, grill, air fry, bake, etc. I like to sprinkle spices and bake at 425 degrees until done – timing depends on the thickness of the chicken, but usually about 20 minutes. Once the chicken is so cool that it can be handled, insert it into small pieces.

The baking tray is filled with cooked chicken breasts seasoned with herbs.

2. When your chicken is baking, use your preferred method to cook 2 1/2 cups of rice. I always cook mine on the stove.

3. In a large skillet, melt 1 sticky butter over medium-low heat.

4. Stir 1/2 cup flour.

5. Gradually stir 2 cups of milk and 2-3 cups of chicken soup (Depending on the thickness you want – it thickens after removing it from the stove)stir continuously until thickened.

6. Stir the diced chicken and heat it. Season with salt and pepper (and any other spices you want!) and serve on the rice.
