Damian Thompson has been appointed as Director of Mortgage Agency and Partnerships, starting from October 1.
Thompson, who has led Mortgage as commercial director for landlords since early 2023, will hold a new role in leading and promoting intermediary relations across the country.
He will also be responsible for the group’s other third-party partnerships in mortgage, insurance, protection and investment, including managing its national relationship with Aviva, which underwrites its home insurance products.
Thompson will report to Henry Jordan, a nationwide mortgage group, in his new position.
It was also announced nationwide that Ian Andrew, director of intermediary relations, decided to leave the organization in 18 years.

The agency and our other partnerships are very important to our business and I’m very much looking forward to building the wonderful relationships we’ve already built with and will focus on how we can further improve all our brokers now and in the future.”
Commenting on his time nationwide, Andrew said: “I have been honored to lead the national and mortgage work intermediary team over the past 18 years. I want to thank all my colleagues across the country and all of the intermediary community for their great support throughout the intermediary community and hope that Damian and everything will succeed in the future.”
Jordan added: “I am glad Damian takes on this role. His extensive experience in mortgages and common sectors will be invaluable as we work to further strengthen the national group’s position in the intermediary industry.”
