Property insurance remains the fastest-growing segment of mortgage payments, up 11% year-on-year, with interest of 8%, property tax of 5%, and principal of 1%. Over the past five and a half years, average property insurance payments have soared nearly 70%, exceeding the growth in principal, interest and taxes, with each tax rate rising by about 23% to 27%.
