Governor Lisa Cook, who fired the Fed, had the same effect. Just as lenders see him usurping the Fed’s independence (and career statisticians who report weaker employment), they may need a higher risk premium and/or investing their funds elsewhere.
It should also be noted that Ms. Cook is the only black governor of the Federal Reserve, the only black female governor in its 112-year history – Let’s face it, Trump, like his father, has never been crazy about black people.
Then there is ironic that she is suspected of alleged mortgage fraud. 34 felony convicted of mortgage fraud were guilty of (leading multiple companies to bankruptcy, putting hundreds or thousands of creditors in trouble) If Lisa Cook needs to step down, doesn’t it?
Of course, this is more likely than Putin or Kim Jong-un’s resignation.
