Who says money equals power?

Money won’t give you strength. The power comes from the choices you make. This is a very important difference. Not all high-income earners are powerful women.

Successful women were divided into two groups. Successful high-income earners and hard-driven high-income earners.

Hard-driven high-income earners are steroids, classic workaholic super women who will collapse before slowing down. They are not powerful women. They live in deprivation…not necessarily money, but time, joy, freedom and control over life.

On the other hand, successful high-income earners actually need time to relax and reflect on themselves. Their decisions are based on fear, but on their most precious values.

A successful high-income earner I interviewed told me a workshop where she was asked this question: If you look back at your life at the end of your life, what will make you most happy and satisfied with your life? Since then, her top 5 values list.

Not long after, a friend asked her to join the board of directors of a company he started in China. The meeting will be a paid weekend for all fees in San Francisco. She had been taking the opportunity for a while, but, she realized that Chinese business was not one of her priorities.

“That would be fun,” she told me. “I’ll meet interesting people, but it’ll get me out of my partner and the books I wrote, which is something that really matters in my life.
