More than 22,000 people will move on the busiest day in August: Learning – Mortgage Strategy

The mortgage industry is scheduled for its busiest pride day later this month, with more than 22,000 buyers exchanging keys.

According to reports from the Homeowners Alliance and the Real Influx, August 29 is expected to be the most popular day of 2025, which involves over 700,000 deleted offers.

August has been the most popular month of the past 13 years, with around 2.1 million actions per year in the UK, the survey added.

Almost 6,000 moves a day, and will see nearly four times the number on Friday, August 29.

More than a quarter of households (i.e. 29%) move on Friday, and only 5% choose to move on Sunday.

But the survey added that 85% of evacuation companies said busy days were more likely to have a date delay for moving.

The main reasons for delays in moving dates are:

● Delayed transfer of funds on completion day transporter/bank system – 88%

●The key was not released in time by the real estate agent or seller – 69%

●Delay causes a knock effect in the property chain – 67%

●Seller does not move out on time – 41%

●The customer is not fully packed and ready to move – 14%

“Friday, August 29, will be the busiest moving day of the year – but that also means the most stress. Avoid rush if you can,” said Paula Higgins, CEO of the Homeowners League.

“In the mid-week or peak season, you can save money and trouble.”

Really invite CEO Rob Houghton to add, “The busiest day of the year means there will be more competition for demolition services, so make sure you are well prepared and everyone in the chain knows that your goal is for that date.

“Ask a disassembly company to visit your home to assess how much you need to move, or at least do a detailed video survey of WhatsApp or FaceTime to ensure you get the right van and team that day.”

The survey is based on 711,531 deleted quotes that have really influxed in the past 13 years.
