I’m glad you reached out, Kairi! First of all, I just want to say that I fully understand where you come from. So many moms find themselves really where you are: taking into account multiple responsibilities and wanting to make some extra money, not sure where to start.

Good news? You absolutely able Find something flexible, fulfilling and legal. And, based on what you share, you are already more qualified than you think!

Let’s break it down a little bit.

It was completely normal to be uncertain at first. There are many options, and it is difficult to know what is legal. But if you can allow yourself to start small and take one step at a time, you will start to see the door open.

  • Free proofreading and editing
  • Transcription
  • Virtual Assistant Job (usually including content or email proofreading)
  • Blog or social media content reviews

All of these are roles you can play in your home and depend on your availability.

Start with what you can do (not what you “should” know)

You (or others who are reading this book) may be considering: I don’t have formal training. Who would hire me? But here’s the thing: many job opportunities don’t require fancy resumes.

They need those:

  • Contact bloggers or small businesses Who may need part-time editor or proofreading help
  • Looking for transcription From companies like Rev, Scribie or Transifeme
  • Consider starting side Proofreading self-published authors or online course creators (there is increasing demand here!)
