Aviva promotes Layden to Equity issue MD – Staking Strategy

Aviva promotes Sarah Layden to the managing director of its stock issuance division.

She moved from her position as Director of Business and Distribution for Aviva’s Direct Wealth business, leading the unit, covering parental leave.

Financial Services Group added that Layden has held many senior business leadership positions in the business since joining the company 20 years ago.

The move was held on July 21, a move that came after the group’s previous equity releases was appointed Managing Director of Aviva Health in April.

Layden will report to Dave Elliot, managing director of Aviva Retirement Solutions.

Elliot said Layden “over the past 23 years, the entire Aviva has experienced a rich and diverse career.”

Layden added that the group’s equity release business “plays a crucial role in helping plan retirement plans as a whole”.

Aviva’s stock release sales rose 41% in the first three months of the year, compared with the 12 months before May.

The group said sales in the retirement sector were £1.8 billion, a 4% increase, driven by higher revenues from individual annuities and equity releases.
