My alarm clock is…

…before 6 a.m. When I work from home, I really like to make the most of my mornings. Before the workday begins, I use early start reset and focus.

Usually I take Hotpod yoga classes; and, on days when I really want to challenge myself, I will continue to work hard to promote the extra adrenaline boost.

I want to work in the finance industry because…

…Like many people, I was really stuck in it.

I still remember posting my resume in the Yorkshire bank mailbox on the local high street because I think it can provide a reliable career.

That simple move became a journey I never thought of – but I was glad to do it.

I try to learn something from everyone I meet

I’ve been in the industry for over 20 years now and have seen how far the mortgage market has gone since the early 2000s, including a greater focus on customer protection and affordability, and the birth of digital-only platforms.

What surprised me was…

…changeable. There aren’t two days that’s the same, I like that.

From strategies and plans to activities and broker participation, there will always be some new engagement.

In the process, this also gave me some brilliant friendships, which is an unexpected reward.

The misunderstanding of my character is…

…Outside the industry, people often misunderstand my job. I have more than one person saying, “So are you selling mortgages to mortgage brokers?” It’s much more than that.

My work makes it fun and adaptability is key

My role is to build relationships, influence strategies, and be a bridge between lenders and the middle market.

I work closely with brokers to understand their needs, provide tailored solutions, and ensure that our products and services are aligned with market demands and ultimately mutual success.

My typical weekday needs…

…Is there a typical day?

Sometimes I attend an industry event and others are packed with team calls, and sometimes it is the focus of strategy and planning.

This breed makes it fun and adaptability is key.

My favorite working memory is…

…I’m not sure I can only choose one.

Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to work with some incredible people and I’ve tried to learn something from everyone I’ve met.

Since the early days, a manager has told me that I have always been using my advice since he told me that I always have “control ability.” It’s simple, but it does take me to root.

Relax after get off work, I…

…Strolling my two Shih Tzus, Holly and Daisy. They are the best company after a busy day.

I am also a huge netball fan and a proud Loughborough Lightning Season Ticket Holder. So if there is a game, you will know where to find me!
