Don’t miss such a big list of free baby items: 15+ free baby items, samples, baby registry and more! Leveraging freebies like this is one of the easiest ways to save as a new parent!
Expect small children or welcome new babies through adoption or parenting, just like the most exciting adventure you will start. But this may also get expensive soon! Between diapers, formula, clothes and gears, the costs may add up. However, there are many ways to save money on baby items – one of which is by signing up for baby freebies!
Did you know you can get baby freebies, free baby samples and baby welcome boxes from many different companies? Think of it as a fun treasure hunt: a few minutes to register here and there can generate items you would otherwise pay for, and you will pay for the money you pay as your budget stretches, giving you peace of mind and extra savings.
The best places to get free baby items:
This is the latest review of the plans and registry for regular sending samples, coupons or full welcome kits. I will also share information about who qualifies, how to register (and any purchase or registry requirements), and provide tips for tracking to avoid missing deadlines:
1. Amazon Baby Registration Welcome Box

When you create an Amazon baby registry, add at least 10 unique items to it and have $10 (by you or gifts to someone), you will be eligible for a free welcome box (as long as you are an Amazon Prime member).
Content varies over time, but usually includes coupons for samples (e.g. wipes, lotions, small toys) and baby essentials. Require:
- Set up your registry
- Add items according to the list
- Waiting for gift/buying threshold
- Find the “Welcome Box” claim in your registry benefit section
We got this and I liked some of these items. We use them over and over again!
2. GerberMygerber Account (Free Samples and Offers)
By creating a Mygerber account, you can choose from baby formula samples, coupons and regular “surprise” offerings. During registration, please indicate that you want to receive free samples – provide your address so that they can be shipped when available.
3. Enfamire Family Starting Point (Free Giveaways and Coupons)

Enfamil’s plan (“Enfamil Family Starting”) allows you to register (enter your date of birth/expiration date, etc.) to receive free recipe samples, coupons, and other privileges (up to about $400 in savings). You may get sample packs in email, digital or paper coupons and get a chance to win a one-year formula.
4. buybuybaby registry completion discount
Buyubuybaby has transitioned to a fully online model, while traditional in-store “candy bags” are no longer available. However, you can still create a registry through the Bed Bath & Beyond/MyRegistry platform and you will get a one-time completion discount.
Tip: Most other baby registration agencies offer some sort of completion discount! So please note.
5. Similac (Mysimilac reward; formerly Strongmoms)

Joining MySimilac rewards is free and can help you get formulas, coupons and welcome kits. This also usually includes free Shutterfly photobook offers, small sample packs of try different Similac formulas, and digital/paper coupons.
6. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library (Free Books)
Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, a registered child female (5 years old) in the participating community receives a free high-quality book every month. It’s not one of the free baby boxes, but it’s a frequent freebies that encourages reading and arrives automatically once you sign up.
Our kids love free books in this email. Actually, there are books we have read a hundred times and they ask me to read them every night before going to bed! (Their current favorite of imagination library is help: a cock!)

7. Free breast pumping with health insurance (ACA Market Plan)
Under the Affordable Care Act, most health plans must not pay for breastfeeding equipment (including breast pumps) as long as the plan does not have a grandfather. Typically, you get the pump through the insurance network or through a designated supplier.
Verify that your health insurance plan covers breastfeeding benefits (please call member services or doctor for advice). Then, if needed, you can get a prescription or medical necessity from the provider.
Note: I was excited about this freebie when I was pregnant with Mika because my sister got a very expensive breast pump for free through insurance. I went through the whole process (a fairly in-depth process) and they offered me a refund of breast pump up to $30. So just know it varies by insurance!
8. Walmart baby registry welcome box

Walmart restarted a free baby registry program on February 1, 2025. Usually, after creating a registry, keeping it active (e.g., 7 days), adding a minimum of items, and having a price of $25 or more (by you or gifts to someone), you can claim a free welcome box (diapers, wipes, wet surfaces, lotions, etc.).
You can read more about the Walmart Baby Box I’ve come here.
9. Nestle Baby and Me (Canada)
In Canada, register on Nestle Baby & Me (Nestlebaby.ca) and may enter your offer, newsletters and occasional sample promotions. Availability may vary across regions.
10.
If you have a toddler, Enfamil’s website sometimes provides sample requests for Enfagrow’s toddler drinks. You can sign up or join the Family Start to see if there is a sample of toddlers.
11. Maternal Maternity Allowance Club
Joining a maternity allowance or loyalty program often results in coupons, occasional free gift bags with samples (pregnant/baby-related), and exclusive offers for clothing or baby gear. Emails may contain codes for free or deep discount items.
12. Babrest Hello Baby Box
Babylist’s Hello Baby Box has a small shipping fee ($8.95 + tax), but contains high value samples (bottles, pacifiers, diapers, lotions, etc.). It is one of the more praised boxes because it has such high value, high quality items, and is totally worth the shipping cost.
Requirements: Fill out about 40% of the registry list, add more than 3 items from other stores, buy at least $30 in Babylist Shop, confirm your address and pay for shipping. Limit one box per household per year.

13. Free Unicorn Baby Swaddle (via Babylist Coupon)
Sometimes, the Babylist Hello Baby Box includes a free coupon for the unicorn baby swaddle (just pay for shipping).
14. Free little Explore Baby Shoes
Grab a pair of small Explore Baby Shoes (just pay for shipping) while the supply continues. They run this promotion almost often, so be sure to check it out if you sell out or don’t survive when you check it out!
15. “Just Pay Shipping” Freebies (nipples, slings, car seats, baby leggings, ruffled diaper cover)
Many websites (for example, freestyle fillers) track “pay shipping only” transactions for baby items. These offers are often spinning and availability may change every day. Example (Verification before ordering):
- Car Canopy ($12.90 left and right)
- Baby Leggings (just pay for shipping)
- Wrinkled diaper cover
Since these “pay-only shipping” freebies are promotional, they may end or change.
16. Good start formula sample
Good start babies sometimes work with Dr. Brown for sample promotions. Just visit the good start example recap page and sign up as any prompts.
17. Target baby box

Target offers a baby registry gift bag containing coupons, samples and freebies (worth $100+)! And, it’s easy to get. Just set up a free target baby registration form account here. (You don’t even need to actually add content to your registry to qualify!)
Once you sign up, you will get a barcode that you can print out and take it to your local target’s customer service desk for a free target baby registry gift bag.
I posted the entire post about my target baby registry gift bags including – so many amazing freebies and coupons including one coupon to enjoy 50% Starbucks drinks!

Sometimes open baby items sometimes look like a fun treasure hunt, and I hope this list can help you get a good start! Each small sample or box offsets some newborn costs and helps you try the product before submitting it.
Keep a list of deadlines and requirements, set calendar reminders to check, and celebrate every victory. You already know – some plans to relieve budget stress when babies arrive very much!
