Stock News for Investors: Blackberry and Alimentation Couche-Tard’s Income

Profits for the quarter were zero cents per share, compared with a loss of 7 cents per share in the same period last year.
The Waterloo, Ontario-based tech company kept its books in USD, with adjusted net income of $12.3 million in the first quarter, compared with a loss of $14.3 million a year ago.
In the quarter, total revenue was $121.7 million, down from $123.4 million the previous year.
BlackBerry CEO John Giamatteo said in a press release that its QNX and secure communications division exceeded expectations both on the top and on the bottom.
He added that the company executed $10 million in stock buybacks this quarter.

Its fourth quarter 2024 figures (all numbers are USD):
- profit: $439.4 million (down from $453 million a year ago)
- Sales volume: $16.3 billion (down from $17.6 billion)
Alimentation Couche-Tard Inc. said it made $442.3 million in the fourth quarter, down from $454.5 million a year ago.
The Quebec-based Quebec company retained its books for USD, reporting that shareholders could be attributed to shareholders of $439.4 million, compared with $453 million a year ago.
