The Vernon Building Society joins the loan team of the Connect Mortgages brokerage network.
Its intermediary members will now have access to a common mortgage product range, including residential loans, self-built and later life, as well as options for purchasing for holidays.
The Building Association focuses on underserved markets and underwriting complex cases to help expand home ownership.
“We have real people who evaluate and underwrite every mortgage, so we can say ‘yes’ to borrowers, or they will find themselves excluded from mainstream loans,” said Brendan Crowshaw, director of mortgage and savings distribution at the Vernon Construction Association.
“This means we received many of the ‘Off-Panel’ applications that have happened recently on Connect, so we contacted the company to work together.
Crowshaw added that the network’s “mortgage professionals complement what we are able to provide, and that makes sense”.
