The Penn State golfer named Allstate NACDA Good Works team Spring Captain

Northbrook, Illinois [May 22, 2025] – Penn State women’s golfer Jami Morris, a Cleveland native and founder of one of the most successful student union cancer fundraisers in Northeast Ohio, was appointed as the spring captain of the Allstate NACDA Good Works team. Morris leads 20 outstanding student-athletes, honored for outstanding community service, academics and track and field.
After her mother was diagnosed with lymphoma in 2016, Morris turned her personal challenge into a task of helping others. She’s established Hit HopeIt is a charitable golf event held during her family class in Cleveland, with the initial goal of raising $10,000 for the University Hospital Seidman Cancer Center. The goal quickly evolved into a campaign: In just three years, Morris raised more than $280,000 to support cancer research, patient care and family services.
“Hit Hope started with a way of respecting my mom, and I never thought it would grow like this,” Morris said. “Being appointed as the captain of the Good Work Team can prove what happens when the community comes together purposefully.”
In addition to leadership Hit HopeMorris works with the Seidman Cancer Center, a university hospital in Cleveland, to ensure funding benefits directly from key programs. She is a passionate advocate for student-athlete service, she actively talks about cancer awareness and encourages young people to promote meaningful philanthropic change.

The Allstate NACDA Good Works team (Spring) recognizes 20 student-athletes from the NCAA department I, II, III and NAIA, spanning baseball, softball, softball, tennis, golf, hockey, hockey, and track and field. These winners are selected from more than 200 nominations nationwide and are leaders in service and performance. The captain was selected for his outstanding leadership and influence, far beyond the scoreboard.
