I read this book in 2018 after my sister recommended it to me. As a homeschooler and growing up in a sheltered environment and knowing many families who shelter their children far more than I am sheltered, this book is very close to home. I found that I could relate to it in ways that many people couldn’t do.
That said, it also makes me very grateful for the education I received through homeschool and how much my parents invested. I know this is not always the case, and it proves it in this very extreme story.
