AMI and IMLA new brokers launch drives – Staking Strategy

The Association of Agency Mortgage Lenders and the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries called on industry volunteers to attract new brokers under the new inclusion charter.
The three-year joint venture of brokerage agencies (working in mortgage work) has launched a charter of diversity and inclusion, “the focus is on how to attract new talent to the industry and ensure we create an environment in which people belong and thrive”.
It is “a call on new volunteers from across the industry to come and participate” to attract new talent into the industry.
It added: “Major changes come from small actions, every personal story, every new part of the mentoring program, or new ideas taken will drive the program forward.”
Dom Scott, managing director of Lifetime Connect (pictured), said: “Ami and Imla combined to push the project forward is a great recognition of its relevance.
“We should control the narrative of the industry – how we describe and promote ourselves – to attract and retain the best talent.”
Aldermore Strategic Partner and Growth Nicola Goldie noted: “I am excited to be the Chair of Mortgage and am pleased to lead the next mortgage journey to build a great job so far.
“As we move forward, I’m eager to welcome new faces from across the industry to participate.”
Stephanie Charman, CEO of AMI, added: “It is more important now than ever that we are keeping our momentum behind mortgage work and driving demand for diversity, equity and inclusion in the workplace.
“AMI recognizes that many people currently ‘belong to’ financial services, rather than actively pursuing it.
“We need to better educate people about the nature of the purpose of the mortgage industry and the meaningful role we play in people’s lives.”
