6 books I read in March

If you see my post about the 2025 goals, you will know that I am achieving my monthly goals, not the annual goals for this year. So, I didn’t set an overall reading goal for 2025, but I plan to set monthly goals.

In March, my goal is to complete 6 books and I am happy to report that I completed 6 books! I finished a novel book (I’m halfway through!!)

My sister gently encouraged me to try reading novels before going to bed every day. Soon, not only do I do this often, but I usually look for some small pockets all day long to read more! I’ve always loved it and it’s very good for my brain and soul!

Every month, I plan to share comments on books I completed the previous month, as many of you ask me to bring back my book posts on my blog. I will also share more in real time in Instagram Stories, Podcasts, and personal email newsletters.

6 books I read in March

Frozen River – This is a very interesting historical novel based on a true story. I find it heartbreaking to hear that women don’t have much voice at all during this period. If you like historical novels, I definitely recommend this book.

How great is our God – I read this devout kid aloud and they love it! It was fun and really caught their attention. If you have a kid who loves science, definitely recommend it!

Build a true intimacy – I read this post to prepare for a podcast interview and love it challenging me – especially when I have long believed that a strong marriage requires compromise. The author has a reason why compromise actually harms marriage and relationships in the long run, and what to do. I’ll have a podcast episode soon and we’re discussing more about this book!

Fight for us – Yes! I read two marriage books this month. Both are preparing for podcast episodes, but I said “yes” in the podcast episode interview because I need encouragement. This is the area I really want to develop this year and it feels like after 23 years of marriage I’m stuck in unhealthy ruts and am working to get rid of these conditions and build healthier rhythms and patterns. This book has had a profound impact on my life and I will soon share more on the podcast – once I have some time to do more with Jesse. And looking for an upcoming episode where I can sit down and ask some honest questions from the author!

You’re not too late – Rebecca George is a new author, but I feel very lucky by reading her words and interviewing her on the podcast. If you feel like you’re left behind, left out or late to your life, I think this book and our podcast episodes encourage you.

Celebrate around the table – When she was on the podcast episode, I loved getting to know Trillia. She is so kind and smart, my conversation with her is a podcast episode and I believe everyone will be challenged and encouraged by listening. Her book guides you through history lessons, dedication, and provides delicious recipes to help you celebrate Black Christians.

For those who ask me when to read: I always have several books at a time, and I usually have a Christian inspiration book or a chapter of a business book every morning. Then, my goal is to read at least one novel/story driven book at night for 15 minutes.

What books have you completed recently? I really want to hear it!
