How does NVIDIA respond to tariffs?

The NVIDIA announcement comes as the Trump administration said tariff exemptions for electronic products such as smartphones and laptops were just officials until officials develop new tariff methods for the semiconductor industry.

White House officials, including President Donald Trump himself, spent Sunday downplaying the importance of exemptions that have reduced meaning but will not eliminate the impact of U.S. tariffs on imports of popular consumer devices and their key components.

U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick told ABC’s “This Week” on Sunday that “they are not subject to reciprocity tariffs, but they are included in semiconductor tariffs, which could happen for a month or two.”

NVIDIA chip and supercomputer manufacturing plants in the United States

NVIDIA said in an article on its website that it has started Blackwell production at a Taiwanese semiconductor manufacturing company in Phoenix. Santa Clara, California-based chip company also builds supercomputer manufacturing plants in Texas – Foxconn in Houston and Worston in Dallas.

NVIDIA’s AI supercomputers will act as an engine for AI factories, the company said, “The new data center is for the sole purpose of dealing with artificial intelligence,” the company said. The U.S. manufacturing industry will create hundreds of thousands of jobs and create hundreds of thousands of dollars in economic security over the next few decades. ”

Nvidia said mass production at both plants is expected to increase in the next 12 to 15 months. The company also plans to work with Taiwan-based companies Spil and Amkor to conduct “packaging and testing operations” in Arizona.
