The England home has completed land purchases of 4,200 homes, which created the agency’s largest development site in northern England.
The body extended the purchase of 34 hectares of land for its southeast Warrington city for an undisclosed sum, which brought the amount of land it owned in the area to about 250 hectares.
“The newly acquired land near Straitton is critical to the success of the entire development, which makes it possible to place the basic access infrastructure in the grant of delivery of the entire allocation,” it said.
The agency plans to build up to 4,200 new homes with schools, medical facilities and green spaces, 30% of which will be affordable.
It will complete a scoped development framework this year, laying the foundation for future planning applications.
Alison Crofton, chief real estate officer of the England family, said: “The acquisition was the climax of the team’s focus and represented a wonderful location.
“This is a clear example of the unique role of the English House in launching, delivering and demonstrating effective landings on a large scale.”

Last month, England’s homes led a £96.7 million deal to develop a major residential plan near Leeds’ city centre.
The five-acre site on Kirkstall Road will house 618 single, two and three-bedroom apartments, nestled among five buildings on the landscaped grounds, including the new public space next to the River Ayre.
