The board reported that 4,947 residential sales in the province last month, down 9.7% from the same period last year.

Prices also fell 2.4% over the same period, with the average home cost just over $964,000 this year and $987,811 in 2024.

Brendon Ogmundson, the association’s chief economist, said there was a few months of momentum amid the uncertainty of tariffs.

He said that in the trade war, concerns among potential buyers will continue, although this is gradually eliminating due to lower interest rates.

The association said that from the same period last year, BC home sales fell 4.5% year-on-year to $8.8 billion.
