Allstate helps Southern California customers and communities recover from wildfires

Allstate is dedicated to assisting Southern California customers.
Customers can now file a claim: Allstate policyholders affected by wildfires can file a claim through the Allstate® Mobile app, online, by calling 1-800-54-STORM or a local agent.
Family claims: Customers can use their mobile device or desktop to share images or live video of the damage to their home with a claims adjuster and help their claim be processed faster. When it is safe to do so, claims adjusters will also be on site ready to conduct a physical inspection.
Car claims: Customers can instantly submit a car damage claim through QuickFoto Claim® using their smart device and the Allstate Mobile app. If they choose, they can use Virtual Assist® to connect with a claims adjuster to show and share video of the damaged vehicle to help move the claim forward quickly.
Instant payment: Once a claim is resolved, payments for covered claims can be made immediately through a variety of channels, including digital payments using QuickCard Pay, Quick Action ePay or one of Allstate’s other digital payment methods, or by physical check.
“We are here to serve our customers. We are using customer-friendly technology and caring claims experts to support Southern California communities impacted by these wildfires.
– Mike Fiato, executive vice president and chief claims officer, Allstate
Allstate is committed to helping California communities.
When nonprofits receive funding before a disaster strikes, they are better able to provide immediate and long-term relief to affected communities. Allstate Foundation commits two grants totaling $750,000 to American Red Cross and Center for Disaster Philanthropystrengthening the capacity of these organizations to support communities affected by disasters.
Allstate helps everyone, whether they are a customer or not, understand how insurance works, how to file a claim and how to access government support programs.
The Disaster Help Center and Allstate Good Hands Recovery Guide provide general insurance information, important government resources and safety tips to help families and communities prepare for and recover from disasters.
Allstate agents are more than just insurance experts. They live and work in the communities they serve. They are local advocates who can help residents answer their questions and provide one-on-one support, especially after a disaster.
Disasters affect entire communities. At Allstate, we believe no one should face trouble alone. We stand by our Allstate® promise to serve you well and work hard to make the recovery process as smooth as possible.
steps taken
- Checking in to make sure everyone is safe. First and foremost, keep your loved ones safe and let others know you are okay.
- Do not enter your home unless you know it is safe. Check with fire officials before attempting to return to your home. Unexpected incidents may occur. In your home, look for hot spots and smoldering areas. Hot embers can hide in rain gutters, under decks, in crawl spaces and in wood/debris piles. If you are concerned it may be unsafe, please do not enter.
- Start the claim process as soon as possible. Allstate customers can file a claim online, using the Allstate® mobile app, calling 1-800-54-STORM or contacting any Allstate agent. Customers can also use MyClaim to update their contact and payment information for faster transactions.
- The file is corrupted. Separate damaged and undamaged items. If it is unsafe to store damaged items, take photos or videos for the claims team and then dispose of them properly.
- Make a temporary fix. If necessary, hire a qualified contractor to make temporary repairs to prevent further damage. Keep all receipts and provide them to your claims team. Take photos before making any repairs.
